We are a little over a week into the Olympics and it has certainly delivered on all the drama and memes. But we’ve had fun rooting for our people at the world’s biggest sporting event.
It doesn’t matter what sport, what country, I am rooting for lesbians through and through. Isn’t fun to be reminded we are everywhere no matter how much straight people want to pretend we don’t exist?
But What About the Basketball?
This is called Lez BALL after all. Well, as expected Team USA won their first game against Japan. And though she’s not a lesbian, we have to give a shout out to A’ja Wilson. The game versus Japan was all A’ja all the time. They stood no chance.
And while Belgium gave the US a run for their money early on, Stewie shut that down immediately. She was making 3’s. She was blocking shots. She was getting the and-1. And by the fourth quarter, despite their best efforts, SaThreeNa Ionescu put a nail in the coffin with a 3-pointer from the damn parking lot.
But, the US has yet to meet their biggest challenge: France.
Wow! The Power of Women
This perhaps came as a surprise to others, but not at all to lesbians, but women have been dominating the gold medal podiums. And it has just been a joy to watch. The South Korean women’s archery team won their 10th gold and held up a 36-year winning streak. What an absolutely ridiculous statement. Artemis would be proud! Simone Biles is Simone Biles-ing. And Katie Ledecky could probably outswim a sea otter at this rate.
Anyway, here’s a collage of my favorite marine mammals.
And picture of my favorite Marine who is a mammal.
Fictional Character Draft Pick
Seeing as how it is the Olympics, I thought to do something a bit different. Instead of guessing which position and which team the character could theoretically fit into, wouldn’t it be fun to place these characters into Olympic sports? And seeing as how I just blazed though all the volumes of Dungeon Meshi, let’s do the dungeon ladies.
First up is Falin.
I think dying and coming back to life as a chimera would come in handy in women’s rugby sevens. Her YOLO personality combined with her mostly calm demeanor would make her a perfect fit. That chimera strength can’t hurt either.
Next up, we have Izutsumi.
She’s agile, flexible, and she can jump pretty high to boot. Don’t you think she’d be perfect for rhythmic gymnastics? Cats love playing with ribbons after all. Though, you might have to bribe her with some Churu to get her to compete.
Lastly, we have Marcille.
Tennis, hands down. Why? The Paris 2024 graphic for a tennis racket is the same shape as her staff.
That’s it. That’s the only reason. These don’t have to make sense ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
